Vicki and I decided to keep up with the practical work, despite the tutorial work still being patchy. We signed down for Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectroscopy or FTIR, which is a lot less exciting than it sounds. On the other hand, it could be just as exciting as it sounds, depending on how exciting you think Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectroscopy sounds. We sat in front of a computer for 90 minutes, occasionally pressing buttons, or sticking a sample into the spectrometer, and then printed out a set of wavy lines and a few numbers. Great.

Once that was over with, I got on with finishing off the tutorial work. By the time it had to be handed in I'd done it all except for one and a half questions (which I didn't have a clue about), so that was success of a sort.

To relax, I went and did kendo. I never seem to learn that whilst kendo can relax, it can also produce bruising and sore muscles. Mark and Chris went to play Goldeneye on Flat 8's Nintendo 64 - more violent, less painful.
