I have of late become rather worried about my sense of musical taste. I have always been very sure of my likes and dislikes when it comes to music, but recently I have found myself listening to, even enjoying, music that I would never have previously even called music. I would probably have used the epithet 'noise'. I blame Mark and Chris for buying me an 'Introspective of House' for my birthday. Three CDs of 'noise', and I actually listen to it with something approaching pleasure. I have at times found myself walking towards my room and wondering where the irritating bass beat was coming from, before realising that it was actually emanating from my CD player.

What is perhaps more worrying is that I heard a Status Quo track (on BBC Radio 2, to make matters worse) and thought to myself 'this isn't that bad, actually'. It is one thing to discover a tune and musical innovation in a Prodigy track, but quite another to think that 'The Quo' are 'quite good'. I shall have to be more careful in future.
