I finally got my sports equipment grant application in. The college will give you up to about £60 for sports equipment required to represent the university. I'm applying for money to cover the cost of the jacket and trousers for kendo. Mark is claiming some money towards the cost of his bow. Next term I'll probably try to get cash back for a shinai and Mark fancies some new arrows, so we'll try to get as many offensive weapons on the list as we can.

I was right about the practical. The write-up is a pain. Vicki and I spent the afternoon going through and we've got nowhere. Rather disheartening, really.

I was my usual happy, smiling self down the bar tonight. Robin rather foolishly made some sarcastic comment about being surprised and happy to see me down the bar. I resisted the urge to smack him one, on the grounds that I probably couldn't prove a reasonable amount of provocation.
