Chris and I spent the afternoon making curry sauce. This is a long and involved process, so we borrowed Ed's large pan (or, more accurately, vat) and made lots of curry sauce. Chris lost his senses of sight and smell after the sixth onion. I wished I had lost the sense of smell as I chopped the cloves of the third bulb of garlic. The onions and garlic were left to stew for a few hours.

The reason for this sudden desire to make the flat smell was that 'Full Metal Jacket' was on the TV, so we decided to invite flat 3 plus assorted other over for a curry and a 'Nam film. We ended up with Aldo and Andy (who brought along John Ireland at random - thankfully we'd made plenty of curry), Sarah Lee, Vicki as well as the three of us. We had some difficulty scaling the whole curry up to eight portions, so the rice ended up was more of a rice pudding and the curry was more drinkable than it should have been, but on the whole it wasn't bad. Aldo provided ice cream for pudding.

Richard Winslade appeared and stayed for the film. This wouldn't have been bad except for his perpetual eating. I think we'll have to ban him eating in our flat. Whenever we see him he is eating - he must have an extraordinarily fast metabolism. Dave also appeared.

Mark left part of the way through the film to go to bed, since he has his Supplementary Quantum Mechanics exam tomorrow. He has been revising and stressing all week. I can't wait until it's over.
