Momentous day - Chris has a tutorial! I am not in the flat to notice his lack of presence, since I am busy doing a practical in the Inorganic Chemistry Lab. This basically involves lots of glass tubes with not much in them, liquid nitrogen (which is great fun to use) and lots of taps which, if turned the wrong way, allow you the pleasure of seeing the product of a few hours' work vanish into the vacuum pump. We also got to play with toluene and chloroform. I got a toluene headache (it smells of petrol) and I'm sure I felt sleepy after using the chloroform. The ICL is very safe.

Mark obtained the vacuum cleaner, and cleaned the carpets today. Very efficient.

More kendo tonight. My stomach muscles are not recovering. I am definitely getting a cold. I keep sneezing and re-pulling my stomach. Life is fine, oh yes, life is fine.
