I rang home today, and my Dad pointed out the error of my calculations involving train ticket prices and Railcard discounts. I returned to the station again, this time armed with two passport photos (which, unsurprisingly, make me look like a criminal) and got a refund on my original ticket and then bought a new one (for different dates, thus justifying the refund) along with a Student Railcard. The whole lot was about £10 cheaper than the original ticket. Humble pie was eaten.

This evening we went to Christmas party at Becky Hone's flat at Bartlemas, the other set of college flats one the other side of town. I neglected to take any beer, so I had a rather dry night. Dave did not have a dry night, and so offered to steal us a car to go home in. We pointed out that (a) it was illegal, (b) that he couldn't anyway and (c) none of us would drive it. We got a taxi.

Mark and Chris are going home tomorrow, and my computer is going for its holidays to Mark's house, for safekeeping thus allowing me to get the train home. The diaries for this term end here.

  Today's advent calendar image: holly.
