voices
I can't see the attraction of some singers' voices. I recall hearing Jo Whiley (I think it was her) raving about Macy Gray and when I heard her singing, I thought "that's unusual". Then, after about the third time of hearing the track, I thought "that's annoying". And it struck me that the reason I actually liked the track was because of the backing vocals, which were really good, and sung by people who could sing, instead of rasp.
Also on my list is Cerys from Catatonia and Dolores from The Cranberries.
But then again, they all sell lots of records, so what do I know?
Mariah Carey? Don't get me started on Mariah Carey.

eggstravaganza
The woman who serves at the tea bar at work commented on my love for Cadbury's Creme Eggs. It worries me that my consumption of them is deemed worthy of comment.
It's true that I get through quite a few of them, but I could stop any time I wanted. Any time.

sign of the times
Things that fell out of my copy of Radio Times today:
- A Thameslink leaflet suggesting that I and three of my friends might like to travel to Gatwick or Luton on one of their trains, for a mere 50 quid.
- A Prudential leaflet, offering my cheaper car insurance.
- A begging letter from the RNLI asking for £18.
- Yet another advert for Bose music systems.
Things that fall out of magazines annoy me, partly because they're so pointless, but mostly because they always fall out while I'm carrying the magazine down the street. I hate scrabbling for things on the ground in public, but I hate littering even more.
