The problem with beating someone a fair few times at Scrabble is that when they beat you by a vast, vast margin, they won't let you forget in a hurry.

messing about in boats

We went to see the Boat Race. We were down by Hammersmith Bridge, and saw nothing of the river. We just stood and watched it on a big screen.

Met random people who I knew from college, and we all cheered happily. Fortunately, Oxford won.

our man in iraq

So the US bombed John Simpson along with Special Forces and Kurds. It was interesting to listen to him tell the tale, and then here the Allied spokesman telling the tale.

But, all in all, notable for a slightly flustered Simpson shouting, mid-report:

"Shut up! I'm broadcasting! Oh yes, I'm fine - am I bleeding?"

I felt sorry for the Army medic who was trying to help. But the story always comes first.
