being across issues

I find that people around me have a terrible tendency to use consultant-speak, and I find it rubbing off on me.

People don't have problems, they have "issues". They are "on board". Perhaps worst of all, they aren't involved, nor do they understand. Instead they are "across" things.

All this corporate language makes me want to weep.

subtitles

The TV in the office is on mute, with subtitles on. It was showing a fight scene from some old US TV show, with two men struggling in a boat. I suddenly realised that the subtitles were actually reading "Aaaargh! Aaaargh! Aaaargh!".
