acid test
We finally found a suitable container for Sara's Kool-Aid. She's had the sachets for months now, but we couldn't find a decent-sized jug container thing that would be large enough and fit in the fridge. You can get them in the US, but we don't seem to be so big on the sort of drinks you make up in bulk from concentrate or powder in the UK.
We made the strawberry one. It tasted like jelly (or, indeed, jell-o) before it's set. I think it's a taste you have to grow up with.

early morning light
I went to sleep early last night - 9.30-10ish - because I had a splitting headache. I woke up at 1am, as Sara was going to bed. Of course, I couldn't sleep and ended up reading (Harry Potter, what else?) until 4.
I noticed light coming through the curtains, and got out of bed to get a drink and make ready for sleep. The garden looked rather eerie in the dawn light, and it took an effort to remember that it was still really night time.
I rather like the early morning - a time peopled by those out very late and those out very early, tired insomniacs, tired party animals, and the occasional milk float.
Shame I'm not up often to see it, really.
