Conference Oxford got a nice e-mail from me today, after they sent me some unsolicited mail. They had my e-mail address because I'd asked them for information when looking for a wedding reception venue.
My points of complaint were:
- I didn't ask for it, nor did they get my permission to store - or use - my personal details.
- They sent everyone's e-mail addresses in plain sight. I pointed them in the direction of the "BCC" field. Fortunately no-one has hit "reply to all" yet.
- They sent the newsletter as a PDF attachment - an extra 80kb dumped into my inbox. It's not like the don't have a web site they could have posted the thing on.
- They sent it twice.
