post-party

Nothing like waking up to the wreckage of a party. At least it's mostly easy-to-clean glassware, and the flat's essentially already tidy.

We have excess booze. I got a bit enthusiastic in my drink-buying, and we now have some twenty-odd bottles of spirits (the booze collection was already quite large - I just swelled it a bit).

People seemed to have fun, anyway. Matt seemed to enjoy himself at least, and unleashed his inner barman. His notable contribution was the invention off the "Arsehopper" - basically a Grasshopper for when you're lacking in creme de cacao (he substituted vodka and finely grated chocolate; he was dissuaded from adding drinking chocolate). He liked it enough that I didn't get to try any of it. Jo contributed Calvados Sours. Sara proposed a cocktail we have yet to name, which mixed limoncello and champagne (I think it needed drier champagne than the Asti we had, but it had potential).

Nic was appointed Drinks Stylist and went about her job with enthusiasm, but I fear that, despite her efforts and our careful camera set-up, our photos might not come out all that well. We just seemed to have difficulty producing attractive cocktails. My Blue Hawaiian was green. The Bellinis foamed strangely. Everything tasted good, it just wasn't all that aesthetically pleasing.
