music, maestro, please
Once again, I am struck by just how phenomenally wonderful the Gary Jules version of "Mad World" (as from the Donnie Darko soundtrack) is, especially when compared to the original Tears for Fears version.
I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
are the best I've ever had
I've been re-acquainted with it after we visited Borders in Oxford and made use of their "listen to a CD" facility. Handy. Not sure if I can stump up the 15 quid for the CD, though.

~carl
I made an RSS feed of Carl Steadman's ~carl. With permission, I might add. Handy, because it doesn't get updated all that often, and I keep forgetting to check back.
He tells me RSS is something he keeps meaning to get round to, but frankly I'd prefer him to spend his time doing something more useful, like writing.

rss a-go-go
ERA, my email RSS aggregation service, is now sort of live. Call it a beta. The email interface is working, the web interface is being worked on.
Basically, you subscribe to feeds and you get the updates by email. Saves running an aggregator yourself, and you get to combine your RSS reading with your daily email reading. BBC news feeds are quite handy, I find. Stuff like that.
The problem with all of this is that I can image ERA appealing to people who don't know much about RSS and who wouldn't run an RSS aggregator. But I haven't quite got round to coming up with a way of explaining it to such people.
Hell, it's a beta. These things will come in time.
