blood

I was supposed to give blood today. I haven't donated for well over a year, largely because I kept forgetting to tell the National Blood Service my new address.

But, I finally remembered and was told there was a session near to work. Which was handy. Except that it slipped my mind.

As it happens, I had to be away from the office all day anyway and wouldn't have been able to make it, but I'm still annoyed that it completely slipped my mind.

soundtracks

With my personal CD player and earplug earphones, I find myself mentally turning my commute into a film, and my CD into a soundtrack.

Something not too hectic is good, since most of the film is just people wandering around. Cars, trains, and so forth. Probably opening credits material for some urban drama. Establishing shots, first-person.

I must get round to making a film sometime. When we were moving, I unearthed all the cine kit I got off ebay. I'd bought standard-8 because (a) the camera was cooler and (b) the kit was cheaper. Sadly, the kit's cheap because no-one can afford to buy film stock. Maybe I'll have to wait until I can afford to go digital.
