bad boys ii
We went to see Bad Boys II this evening. It was entertaining, certainly, and anyone coming out of the cinema saying "that was stupid" went in with false expectations.
Some good set-pieces, but most went on a bit. Over-egging the pudding, as it were. I felt like standing up and saying "OK, we get the idea - these are maverick cops willing to bend the rules to get results, particularly if it involves lots of bullets and some snappy one-liners, and one of them drives a high-powered car pretty well. Now get on with it."
Actually quite a few "yuck" moments too, which surprised me.
So, over-long, over-egged and not as good as the first one (not that I venerate the first one as a pinnacle of film-making). Decent, but could have waited for it to come out on video.

early weekend
Sara has today and tomorrow off, so I've moved my weekend forward a bit. Normally I'd take Thursday and Friday off if I work Saturday and Sunday, but work is pretty flexible which is nice.
It's not often our shifts coincide neatly, so we have to grab our weekends together when we can.
